THE WALKING DEAD Season 3 - First Look at The Governor

The third season of The Walking Dead is going to take us to an awesomely dark place, and I can't wait to see how the next chapter of this story plays out. Today we give you a first look at one of the main characters in the story, a character called The Governor, played by David Morrissey. For those of you who have been reading the comics then you know he's the vicious leader of a small settlement called Woodbury. He ends up becoming one of Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) worst enemies.

Comic creator Robert Kirkman had this to say in a statement...

Seeing The Walking Dead come to life on AMC has been a real thrill for me, obviously, and moving into Season 3 I'm even more excited than ever because now I feel like we're really getting to 'the good stuff.' Having The Governor in the mix is going to fundamentally change the show in all kinds of awesome and exiting ways. And David Morrissey totally rocks!

He goes on to reassure fans that The Governor from the comic is the same one we'll see in the series,

The Governor in the show is definitely going to be The Governor in the comic. I think that he's definitely going to be a character that people love to hate and are absolutely entertained by, but also somewhat terrified of. He's definitely going to be a very important character and a very nuanced character. We are not going to be watering him down.

That's awesome to hear, and I gotta say Morrissey sure looks like a tough son-of-a-bitch in the image above. I guess you'd have to be to survive a zombie apocalypse. He fits the part perfectly. The Walking Dead will air on Sundays at 9pm on AMC and will the season 3 premiere will hit this fall! What is your first reaction to the look of The Governor?
