THE AMAZING SPIDER- MAN End Credit Sequence Theory
Ever since Iron Man in 2005, Marvel has been known for after credit sequences. In The Avengers they started doing Mid-Credit sequences because I guess they realized the general public (geeks excluded) doesn’t want to wait 30 minutes to see a 5 second clip.
The Amazing Spider-Man followed suit.

Dr. Curt Connors is in a darkened cell when out of nowhere a shadowy figure appears and asks Dr. Connors, if he’s told Peter about his father. Instantaneously the fuse was lit. People speculated on who this man could and alas most people thought it was the man behind Oscorp Mr. Norman Osborne himself.
But in an interview with Ain’t It Cool News, Mr. Rhys Ifans put those theories to rest.
Capone: Okay, what do you think about that ending?
RI: Well, Connors is basically locked up in a very high-security mental institution.
Capone: We were debating whether it was a prison or a mental institute.
RI: It's not a zoo. [laughs] I kept seeing it as maybe a mixture of both. Then a representative from OsCorp appears miraculously in the room. How he gets in there and how he leaves, we don’t know. Maybe we will find out. But it’s not Norman Osborn.
Capone: It’s not? You can say that?
RI: Yeah. But it is someone who is in the employ of Norman Osborn without question.
Capone: Someone we're familiar with, who we don’t know is employed by Osborn?
RI: Yeah.
So who could this Shadowy figure be? I have one theory.
Now back in 2007 Marvel did a Spider-Man miniseries called Back in Black to coincide with the Release of Spider-Man 3 in which the alien symbiote suit is prevalent in both. Marvel did the same thing this year with the Lizard being in No Turning Back.
But there is also another villain in there… Morbius The Living Vampire. Now on the Wikipedia page for Morbius it states
A tragic and sympathetic antagonist. He was attacked by the Lizard and defeated when Spider-Man and the Lizard joined forces. A flashback reveals that Morbius was actually a Nobel Prize-winning biochemist, who had attempted to cure himself of a rare blood disease with an experimental treatment involving vampire bats and electroshock therapy. However, he instead became afflicted with a far worse condition that mimicked the powers and blood-thirst of legendary vampirism. Morbius now had to digest blood in order to survive and had a strong aversion to light. He gained the ability to fly, as well as superhuman strength, speed, and healing abilities. His appearance became hideous—his canine teeth extended into fangs, his nose flattened to appear more like a bat's, and his skin became chalk-white. He also gained the ability to turn others into similar "living vampires" by biting them.
His back-story fits the bill... in the shadows, Biochemist, but he is basically a vampire which is a long shot in a more realistic version of Spider-man but then again he did just pit himself against a humanoid lizard. This would also help to bridge gaps within the Marvel universe and we could potentially have a desperately needed new and improved Blade movie as Morbius and Blade have an ongoing feud. It would also help to erase Blade Trinity out of our minds.
This is one theory among many.
