Ed Helms Confirmed for VACATION Sequel
Earlier this year, we learned that Ed Helms (The Hangover, The Office) was wanted for the role of Rusty Griswald in the new Vacation sequel. Horrible Bosses writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will direct the film from a script they wrote. Today, Variety confirmed that news to be true and revealed that the actor is currently in negotiations.
Rusty Griswold is the son of Clark Griswold, who was awesomely played by Chevy Chase in the National Lampoon's Vacation films. Obviously in this film he'll be grown up. "The new version of the vacation adventures of the quirky dad and his family will follow Rusty, who now has his own family misadventures on the road."
I love the Vacation films that have been made in the past, and the studio is hoping to revive the comedic franchise. I think that Helms is the perfect actor to carry the torch for this franchise, let's just hope it turns out just as funny or funnier than the original.
What do you think about Helms taking on this role?
