Christopher Nolan Thinks Catwoman should have a Spin-off Film
Just because Christopher Nolan isn't making anymore Batman movies doesn't mean he's still not interested in seeing the story of some of the other characters continue. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Nolan said Anne Hathaway did an awesome job bringing Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, to life in The Dark Knight Rises, and he doesn't think it should end there.
Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She's really built it from the ground up, it's just a delight to watch her perform. ... She's an incredible character and we're very excited to see her, and hopefully we'll leave people wanting more.
Of course they are going to leave fans wanting more! Everyone would love to see another Dark Knight movie, but the director has already said it's not going to happen. But that doesn't mean we can't see some of the other character from Nolan's world in a spin-off movie. In fact, Nolan would love to see Hathaway's Catwoman get her own film. Don't get your hopes up about Nolan directing it though, because that's not going to happen. He went on to say,
For me, Gotham and these characters, I'm done. I've told our story and I'm moving on ... [but] I certainly think she deserves it, she's incredible.
I imagine he's already made this suggestion to Warner Bros., so it will be interesting to see if anything comes of this. Maybe they are just laying in wait to see how audiences react to her character. I wouldn't mind seeing a Catwoman movie get made. I like what I've seen so far of Hathaway. I'd just like to think Halle Berry's 2004 film doesn't even exist.
Would you like to see Anne Hathaway get her own Catwoman spin-off film?
