SDCC '12: Watch the Entire HOBBIT Panel

Yes, we're still pulling stuff out of the vault to bring you Comic-Con coverage. The dust has settled, the cosplayers have gone home, but there are still plenty of you who didn't get a chance to attend San Diego Comic-Con. There are also those of you who were there but didn't get into Hall H. We've got some sore elbows, and our ears are still ringing a little bit, but if you enjoy the footage, then it was all worth it. I think it's safe to assume that the majority of people who camped out for Hall H on Friday night/saturday morning were gunning for close seats for The Hobbit. There was plenty of footage shown, maybe a little too much, but we all left good and satisfied.

For a full breakdown of the footage shown, click here. And for our reaction to the entire WB/Legendary panel click here.

Here's the panel in its entirey. Those in attendance were Peter Jackson, Phillipa Boyens, Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis, and Elijah Wood.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters December 14th.

Synopsis:

The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.
