THE WOLVERINE - Video from the Set

As of today, The Wolverine is officially in production in Australia! This morning Hugh Jackman tweeted,

we're on day 1 of shooting…..wolverine is back…feel so pumped about this one……never felt so ready!!!! will keep y'all posted!!!

On top of that, Australia's 7 News managed to get some video of the day's shoot, which took place in Kurnell. The video shows the set of a Japanese World War II prisoner camp.

The movie is based on the 1982 comic series created by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller that sent Logan to Japan in a story involving the ninja clan The Hand. The story follows Logan, who starts "a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won't take "no" for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers and Silver Samurai."

James Mangold is developing the sequel. As much as I hated the first Wolverine film, I think they are actually going to do this one right. The movie also stars  Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee.

The Wolverine is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26th, 2013. Are you excited to see this classic Wolverine story brought to life on the big screen?
