Emma Stone Cast in Cameron Crowe's Next Film

Emma Stone is set to star in director Cameron Crowe's next film, which I think is a great matchup of talent! The film is a love story that is currently untitled and scheduled to go into production in the spring.

Crowe wrote the script and Stone will play one of two leads. There's a male lead that has yet to be cast. According to Deadline the tone of this latest film "is reminiscent of past Crowe films Almost Famous and Jerry Maguire."

I'm a huge fan of Crowe's work, he's got such a great storytelling style, and I absolutely loved his last film We Bought a Zoo. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it now! It was one of my favorite films of 2011. I'm just happy we aren't going to have to wait another five years before we see another film from the director.

There's a possibility that this could be the supernatural romantic comedy that Crowe was trying to get off the ground before We Bought A ZooDeep Tiki. At one point it had Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon attached.

From what we know of the film, it centers on a disgraced military weapons consultant who is deployed to a dormant base in Hawaii to supervise the launch of a spy satellite. While there he discovers himself and thinks about the relationships he left behind. The story is set against the backdrop of mythical island lore and Cold War-esque diplomacy. It even involved visions of Hawaiian Gods and a volcano sacrifice.

There seems to be some confusion on the internet if this is the actual film Crowe is working on or not. If it is... awesome, if it's not... I'm sure he came up with another great story.

Do you think Stone and Crowe will make a solid team?
