Comic-Con 2012 - Top 15 Panels We're Excited to See!

TVMovie Comic-Con by Joey Paur

San Diego Comic-Con is one of our favorite events of the year! We love the insanity, and the challenge of seeing and covering as many panels as we possibly can. If you've been to Comic-Con then you know that seeing everything that you want to see is a challenging feat. Luckily every year we've been able to accomplish our goals with patience and hard freakin' work!

So here's a list I've compiled of the top 15 panels we are looking forward to seeing at this year's epically awesome geek convention. The number one thing on my list of things to see is The Hobbit. What's the number one panel you want to see?!

1. Warner Bros. Movie Panel

I think Warner Bros. is going to end up being the biggest hit at this year's convention. They are showing off three incredibly huge films that include Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, and Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. I expect to be blown away by these film panels. Especially because they will be showing off exclusive footage to us!

Saturday - 2:30-5:00 - Hall H

2. Marvel Studios Panel

Marvel Studios will be kicking ass with Iron Man 3, and they are sure to officially announce their upcoming slate of film projects. Marvel always tends to go all out with their movie panels, and this is sure to both entertain, and give the fans what they want.

Saturday - 6:00-7:00 - Hall H

3. Firefly 10-Year Anniversary

With Joss Whedon and Nathan Fillion leading the charge of the 10-year Firefly anniversary reunion, you know it's going to deliver all kinds of geek awesomeness! Adam Baldwin, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin, Sean Maher, and Summer Glau will also be in attendance. This could very well be the most entertaining panel at Comic-Con.

Friday - 12:30-1:30 - Ballroom 20

4. Sony Pictures Panel

Sony Pictures is bringing with them a reboot and two awesome looking original sci-fi films that include Total Recall, Looper and Elysium. As excited as I am for the Recall reboot, Looper and Elysium will give us something that we've never seen before, and we aren't expecting. These panels could contain the convention's biggest surprises.

Friday - 4:35-6:35 - Hall H

5. Dexter Panel

Dexter!!! This is one of my favorite TV shows of all time and Season 7 is upon us. It's going to be great to get a little taste of what's in store for the fans with a screening of the first two minutes of the series, which is sure to be interesting, especially after what happened at the end of last season.

Thursday - 6:00-7:15 - Ballroom 20

6. The Walking Dead Panel

The Walking Dead returns to Comic-Con this year, and has graduated to Hall H where it belongs. This is going to be one of the hottest TV panels this year, and I'm sure Hall H will be full to capacity when they show an exclusive sneak peek at season 3.

Friday - 1:25-2:25 - Hall H

7. Disney Panel

Disney will once again be bringing the magic to the con with Sam Raimi's OZ, The Great and Powerful and Tim Burton's Frankenweenie. Disney always puts on a great show, and manages to surprise audiences with their panels. I'm excited about seeing both of these movies, but it will be great to finally be to see what Raimi has been cooking up for OZ.

Thursday - 2:05-3:05 - Hall H

8. Django Unchained Panel

Quentin Tarntino will be bringing Django Unchained to Comic-Con where he'll be showing some exclusive footage and talking about the film with the cast. This movie looks great, and should make for a fun panel. I'd love to hear what Tarantino is cooking up next!

Saturday - 11:30-12:30 - Hall H

9. Game of Thrones Panel

Bring on the Game of Thrones! The badass fantasy series comes to Hall H. As season 2 just ended there won't be anything to see of season 3, but it will be cool to listen to what the cast and crew have to say about the series, and what's in store for the future.

Friday - 2:45-3:45 - Hall H

10. Breaking Bad Panel

We are entering the fifth and final season of AMC's intense series Breaking Bad. I'm looking forward to seeing whatever exclusive footage they'll bring and listen to the cast and crew discuss where this series is going and maybe get some hints about how it will end.

Friday - 6:45-7:45 - Ballroom 20

11. Marvel TV Panel

I've always enjoyed going to the Marvel TV panel to see and hear about what they are developing. There's been a lot of controversy surrounding the new Ultimate Spider-Man and the cancellation of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I'm curious to see how they are addressing those issues. I'm also hoping to find out what kind of progress they've made on the live-action Hulk series they are developing.

Saturday - 10:30-11:30 - Room 6BCF

12. Adult Swim Panels - Robot Chicken and Venture Brothers

I'm a huge fan of Robot Chicken, and it's always been a blast attending the panels. It's also fun to see what kind of crazy awesome comedy they have planned for upcoming episodes.

The Venture Bros. is another show I love to watch on Adult Swim, and like Robot Chicken the panels have always been entertaining and worth attending. This is a classic series that continues to pump out hilarious stories.

13. The Expendables 2 Panel

Why wouldn't you want to attend The Expendables 2 panel!? Look at who's attending! Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, and Jean Claude Van Damme... all up on stage together talking about action movies! How is that not going to be awesome?!

Thursday - 4:45-5:45 - Hall H

14. Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a great quality CG animated series, and it moving on with its fifth season. I don't know if you've been watching this series or not, but season 4 was awesome! This is one of the few shows I watch that actually seems to get better and better as the story progresses from season to season. The panel will feature some new clips and insights into what we will seen in upcoming episodes.
