Did Karl Urban Just Reveal the STAR TREK 2 Villain?

There's been a lot of speculation surrounding the main villain in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2 played by Benedict Cumberbatch. At one point we heard that he would be playing Khan in the film, but that rumor was shut down fast by Simon Pegg. We've heard a few other villain names tossed around but nothing that has stuck until now.

It looks like Karl Urban (Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy) let the cat out of the bag. During an interview with SFX, Urban was asked about working with Cumberbatch in Star Trek 2, and here's what he said...

He’s awesome, he’s a great addition, and I think his Gary Mitchell is going to be exemplary.

Boom... there it is. According to this statement Cumberbatch will be playing Gary Mitchell... unless Urban was just screwing around. Mitchell is a character from the original TV series in an episode called Where No Man Has Gone Before. He's a friend of Captain Kirk, and a Starfleet officer on the U.S.S. Enterprise. He ends up with some powerful telekinetic powers, and turning against Kirk and his crew. Mitchell and Kirk end up in a deadly faceoff.

What makes this news interesting is the fact that producer and co-writer Roberto Orci said in a previous interview that Mitchell was definitely one of five characters that won't be in the movie. Of course the producers aren't going to give anything away, and will steer us in the wrong direction. But maybe Urban just accidentally let it slip out.

This character actually makes more sense to me than Khan. We won't know for sure who the villain is until there's actual confirmation, but Mitchell could be it. What do you think about the possibility of Mitchell being the villain?
