MAN OF STEEL - Plot Synopsis and IMAX 3D Conversion

This Saturday director Zack Snyder will show up at Comic-Con to show off his latest creation... Man of Steel. We'll find out soon enough if Snyder has what it takes to bring a new fresh vision of Superman to fans and audiences around the world. Expectations are high, and the fanboys and fangirls are preparing to either embrace what Snyder has done with love and excitement, or throw him into the Phantom Zone never to be heard from again.

IMAX has revealed that the movie will be released in IMAX 3D, which isn't surprising at all. It was obvious that would happen. Just so you know, the movie was not shot in IMAX or 3D, so all that stuff will be done in post. A new plot synopsis for the film also came along with the announcement, and it's the first official summary we've seen from the film. It's very vague but it works. Check it out!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

The IMAX release of Man of Steel will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Don't be shocked by the fact that this is another superhero origin story, we all knew that was going to happen. It will be interesting to see how Snyder handles it though. We do know that a big portion of the film will take place on Krypton, which is cool! That's something I've always wanted to see more of in the films. It looks like we're finally going to get it.

Man of Steel hits IMAX 3D on June 14th, 2013! Do you think Snyder is going to be able to pull this off? How many slow motion shots do you think he'll throw into the film?
