Marc Webb Set to Direct THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK

Movie Marc Webb by Joey Paur

It's still up in the air if Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb will direct the sequel, but he hasn't stopped taking on other projects. According to Thompson on Hollywood, the (500) Days of Summer director is now attached to direct an independent anti-romance film called The Only Living Boy in New York.

The film is a twisted coming-of-age tale in which a young man learns that his overbearing father is having an affair. The son tries to stop it, only to become involved with the woman as well. With advice from a questionable, quirky neighbor, the young man learns about love.

This seriously seems like a perfect film for Webb to direct; he's good at telling these kinds of stories. The last we heard, Logan Lerman (Percy Jacksonwas set to play the the role of the young man. There's no word on if he's still attached to star, but the previously attached director, Seth Gordon, obviously isn't.

The producers of Little Miss SunshineRon Yerxa and Albert Berger, have been trying to make the film for the last seven years. It looks like it's finally going to move forward.

Webb is also looking to hopefully direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and other projects such as Just Another Love Story, the musical Jesus Christ Superstar, and the sci-fi apocalyptic movie The Age of Rage.
