Adam McKay's THE BOYS Is Back in Development at Paramount!

It looks like director Adam McKay's (Step Bothers, Anchorman, The Other Guys) The Boys comic book adaptation isn't dead! The project was initially set up at Sony Pictures, but it fell apart and died... only it didn't die. According to a recent tweet from McKay, the project is alive and well. It found a new home at Paramount Pictures where it's currently being developed.

Yesterday a fan tweeted the director saying,

Just saw that The Boys is no longer happening. Sorry to hear it! Would have loved to see your adaptation.

Mckay replied shortly after,

Actually paramount picked it up and we're still developing.

Who knows when it will go into production, but at least it's back in development!

The Boys was created by Garth Ennis and I'm looking forward to seeing what Mckay has palnned with it. It's very different from anything he's ever done before, but it should end up being a solid flick. Here's the synopsis...

This is going to hurt! In a world where costumed heroes soar through the sky and masked vigilantes prowl the night, someone’s got to make sure the “supes” don’t get out of line. And someone will! Billy Butcher, Wee Hughie, Mother’s Milk, The Frenchman, and The Female are The Boys: A CIA-backed team of very dangerous people, each one dedicated to the struggle against the most dangerous force on Earth - superpower! Some superheroes have to be watched. Some have to be controlled. And some of them, sometimes, need to be taken out of the picture. That’s when you call in The Boys!

Are you excited to see The Boys back in development? Do you think McKay will do a good job with the material?
