More Details on Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. TV Series

Avengers director Joss Whedon is officially attached to direct a S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot for ABC that he will co-write with his brother Jed and Maurissa Tancharoen. We now have a few more details on the series to share with you.

On Tuesday night Whedon moderated a Q & A at the Writers Guild Theater with Sleepwalk with Me filmmakers Mike Birbiglia and Ira Glass.  While he was there he said that "the storyline for the proposed series will be largely 'autonomous' from the Avengers sequel feature that is also in the works."  And that the story "will revolve around the activities of the top-secret S.H.I.E.L.D espionage org featured in Avengers."

If ABC ends up ordering up a full series, Jed and Tancharoen, who worked on Whedon's classic series Firefly, will serve as showrunners/executive producers on the Avengers inspired series. Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb, who worked on Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will also be an executive producer on the series.

If going to be awesome to see how this series ends up playing out! As you know, Whedon has developed a ton of great TV shows in his career, and I have no doubt that he's going to give us an incredible S.H.I.E.L.D. series that fans are going to love and embrace.

Are you looking forward to Whedon's new S.H.I.E.L.D. series? What are you hoping to see from it?
