Ryan Reynolds Cast in Psychological Thriller QUEEN OF THE NIGHT

Ryan Reynolds is set to star in a new psychological thriller called Queen of the Night, which is set to be directed by Atom Egoyan (Chloe, Devil's Knot).

In the story, "Reynolds plays the father who discovers a series of disturbing clues eight years after his daughter is abducted, a trail that leads him to believe the now 17-year old girl is alive. He is determined to find her."

I have daughters of my own, and I hate thinking about losing them, so a movie like this is sure to screw with my head. I find that having kids greatly amplifies the intensity and fear of watching movies that involve kids in danger.

Egoyan, who just wrapped shooting on his West Memphis 3 film Devil's Knot, had this to say in a statement,

I’m very excited about working with Ryan. The richness of [Reynolds'] performances in such diverse films as Buried, Safe House and romantic fare such as The Proposal is extraordinary.

I think it's funny that he actually threw The Proposal into the mix. In return Reynolds, who just wrapped R.I.P.D. with Jeff Bridges, said this about the director,

Egoyan is a provocative filmmaker [whose] films demand that we face what is most complex in our own psyches. Chloe, Felicia’s Journey and The Sweet Hereafter all possess the unique and careful touch of a true artist. I look forward to collaborating with him on this project and having an opportunity to observe his innovative directing style first hand.

Reynolds is also supposed to by the immortal Highlander in the Juan Carlos Fresnadillo directed remake, and one day maybe he'll get to that long awaited Deadpool movie at Fox.
