Trailer for Gerard Butler's PLAYING FOR KEEPS

FilmDistrict has released a trailer for Gerard Butler's soccer movie, Playing For Keeps. The movie was originally called Playing the Field, and Butler plays a charming ex-pro soccer player who coaches his kid's youth soccer team. While doing this he's dealing with his ex-wife, a few soccer moms looking for some action, and trying to find himself.

The romantic comedy has a solid cast of co-stars that include Jessica BielUma ThurmanJudy GreerCatherine Zeta-Jones, and Dennis Quaid. It doesn't look like a terrible movie, but it's also just not my thing. I think I'll be skipping it... unless my wife drags me to it.

Here's the Synopsis:

A charming, down-on-his luck former soccer star returns home to put his life back together. Looking for a way to rebuild his relationship with his son, he gets roped into coaching the boy's soccer team. But his attempts to finally become an "adult" are met with hilarious challenges from the attractive "soccer moms" who pursue him at every turn.

The movie hits theaters on December 7th. Check out the trailer and let us know if you think the movie looks like it's worth watching! On a random note, I still think it's weird that Butler played the Phantom of the Opera in Joel Schumacher's musical adaptation.
