More Awesome AKIRA Storyboard Art with Tetsuo

ArtMovie Akira by Joey Paur

Some more storyboard art for Warner Bros. live-action adaptation of Katsuhiro Ohtomo's Akira has been released online. This series of art comes from Chris Weston and was created for Albert Hughes' when he was attached to direct.

I'm actually kind of glad that Warner Bros. has been having problems getting this movie made. They want it to be a watered down PG-13 version with a cheapass budget. I wouldn't mind seeing it happen one day, but it has to be what the fans want. If it's not, what's the point of making it if it's going to be a half-assed attempt?

At least the concept art has been cool! Here's a note from the artist:

Albert Hughes has released some of the storyboards I drew for his live-action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo's classic graphic novel,"Akira". Here's a few of them; hopefully they reveal just how much love we had for the source material and how faithful we were going to be to it.

Look over the art, and let us know if you ever want to see a live-action Akira movie!
