CABIN IN THE WOODS Almost Had an Awesome Video Game

Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's horror film Cabin in the Woods is one of my favorite movies of the year, and apparently we almost got an awesome video game adaptation as well!

During an Ask Me Anything Reddit Q&A Goddard revealed that there was going to be a crossover video game with the Left 4 Dead franchise as an expansion pack. It would have opened up the full world of the film to play around in, including the house, the woods and the underground facility... with all of the monsters! Could you imagine how badass that would have been?! Here's what the director had to say,

The game was gonna be amazing. You were gonna be able to play in both the upstairs Cabin in the Woods world and the downstairs facility world with all the monsters. Believe me, I HATE all video games based on movies, they always suck, but porting Cabin into Left For Dead felt like the right fit. It pains me that it didn't happen.

Unfortunately, the game fell apart and was scrapped when MGM filed for bankruptcy. I wish this game would have been developed, it sounds like it would have been a ton of fun. I don't know about you but I think they should try and revive the game! If this game existed would you play it?
