Michael Shannon Praises Henry Cavill's SUPERMAN Performance

I'm very excited about seeing Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, which is set to fly into theaters next summer. I especially can't wait to see how the films' star, Henry Cavill, portrays the legendary son of Krypton. According to Michael Shannon, who plays the villain Zod in the film, Cavill is going to be incredible. The actor recently did an interview with MTV in which he said,

I always felt like I was in a scene with Superman. I never looked at him and thought that's just somebody trying to be Superman — he felt like the real deal.

That's a pretty awesome compliment. Superman isn't an easy character to play, and no one will play it like Christopher Reeve. Brandon Routh tried, but didn't quite capture the charm. It looks like Cavill has made the part his own though, which is what needed to be done. He will be playing the part unlike anything we've seen before, and the fans are eagerly anticipating the release of more footage to see how he's portrays out favorite hero. Shannon continued,

I really admire Henry's work ethic. I really haven't seen anybody in this business work quite that hard. Obviously it's a tremendous responsibility, and an intimidating one, to wear that suit. But he had the confidence and the work ethic to accomplish it.

Man of Steal also stars Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Ayelet Zorer, and is set to hit theatres on June 14th, 2013.

Do you think Cavill is the man that will give Superman life on the big screen again? I sure hope so.
