Russell Crowe Discusses MAN OF STEEL and Super Sonic Superman

As fans of Superman, we're all hoping that Zack Snyder will be able to pull of the modern day Superman film that we've all been waiting for. Russell Crowe believes it will be! He plays Jor-El in the film, and in a recent interview with Reelz he talks about the complexity of the story, and why Man of Steel will be different from any other Superman film that's been made...

It's very complicated, it's really complex. I don't think anybody has really tried to get into the psychology of what it must be like to be Superman and what people would really respond like in a modern society if somebody like that just popped up. I think Zack Snyder was given a great deal of responsibility because when it comes to comic book heroes and superhero films the top of the food chain is Superman. I think the biggest indicator for me of how it's looking is that the financier of the film has sent me gushing emails, he just loves it.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it, it's a massive undertaking. It takes you on the ground to Krypton, it takes you to a planet where the sun is four times larger than ours and you get to experience that stuff and if you've seen the trailers you realize that this Superman is not just floating through the air held up by a wire, this Superman is super sonic. I'm really looking forward to the way that people will respond to it.

So if Crowe is to be believed, then it sounds like we have something really special coming our way. It's cool to see that he's excited about seeing it! We're all excited about seeing it, and I think Crowe is going to be great in the role that was previously played by Marlon Brando. Hopefully we get to see him in a little action this time around.

Man of Steel flies into theaters in 2D, 3D and IMAX on June 14th, 2013! You can watch the trailer again here. The movie also stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Michael Shannon as General Zod, who's going to kick so much ass in this movie!

Next summer, “Man of Steel” is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.
