Brad Bird's 1952 Sci-Fi Film Is Now Called TOMORROWLAND

The secret sci-fi film project that Brad Bird, Damon Lindelof and George Clooney have been working on for Disney has been revealed! The movie was originally announced under the title 1952. Disney has now revealed that the official title of the movie will be Tomorrowland

The Walt Disney Studios has announced that its live-action release previously known as 1952 will be titled Tomorrowland. The film will be released domestically on December 19, 2014. George Clooney (The Descendants) is set to star. Tomorrowland is written by Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird from a concept by Lindelof and Jeff Jensen. Lindelof (Star Trek, Lost, Prometheus) will produce and Bird (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) will produce and direct.

There's no official synopsis yet, but judging from the title, I'm sure the movie will loosely be inspired by Tomorrowland at the Disneyland parks. Maybe that 1952 box that Lindelof and Bird teased recently included ideas for Tomorrowland. Things are starting to click into place. It will be interesting to see what exactly their planning for the films story. This is some exciting stuff! I wonder what will they reveal next?

We do know that the story centers on aliens and that the movie will recapture the spirit of Steven Spielberg's classic movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
