Ailing Star Trek Fan Who Got To See INTO DARKNESS Passes Away

Daniel Craft, the terminally ill Star Trek fan that J.J. Abrams screened a rough cut of Star Trek Into Darkness for last week passed away on Friday night.

The news was reported by New York’s Subway Cinema on its Facebook page explaining that it was from complications of his cancer. He was 42 years old, and a longtime supporter of Subway Cinema and the New York Asian Film Festival.

Abrams learned of Craft’s dying wish via Reddit and several entertainment news outlets. He arranged a screening of the film for him and his wife. I can't begin to explain the sorrow I feel for his family and friends, but our hearts and prayers go out to them.
