Brad Dourif Claims Tim Burton Wanted Him to Play the Joker

Over the weekend at New York Comic Con, Brad Dourif made a startling revelation to Batman fans. According to Dourif, Tim Burton asked him to play The Joker and the studio shot it down and went with Jack Nicholson. The Guardian snagged this quote from Dourif at the 25th anniversary of Child's Play panel,

"Tim Burton saw me on a plane and wanted to cast me and they [studio Warner Bros] said no," said the actor, who has played evil doll Chucky in six Child's Play films. He joked: "He [Nicholson] takes all my roles."

This would mark the third time Dourif was considered for a role in a Batman film, believe it or not! According to Notstarring.com Dourif also was considered for the role of Scarecrow in the cancelled Batman Triumphant, as well as Riddler in Batman Forever  . Does this mean Brad Dourif will finally get his chance in the next set of Batman films? I wouldn't think so, but I think he would make a solid Dr. Hugo Strange.
