Here are some official images from the upcoming DreamWorks Animation movie, Mr. Peabody & Sherman. The film stars the voices of Ty Burrell (Modern Family ) and
Max Charles (The Amazing Spider-Man, The Three Stooges). I can't say I was ever a big fan of the source material, but maybe it's something the kids will enjoy.
The movie is based on Jay Ward's classic cartoon, and the movie centers on Mr. Peabody, who is the world's smartest person, and who happens to be a dog. "When his 'pet' boy Sherman uses their time traveling WABAC machine without permission, events in history spiral out of control to disastrous and comical results. It's up to this most unexpected of father-son teams to somehow put things back on track before the space-time continuum is irreparably destroyed."
While explaining the movie, director Rob Minkoff said,
“The latest technology is that Mr. Peabody has combined time travel with flight. You can you actually fly through a wormhole into your historical destination, then fly the craft around once you are there. It’s a little 2.0.”
The movie also stars Stephen Colbert, Leslie Mann, Allison Janney, Stanley Tucci, and Lake Bell. It's scheduled for release on March 7th, 2014.
