DRIVE Director Starting Work on All Female Horror Film

Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn is moving forward with a new film project called I Walk With the Dead, which has been described as an all female horror film. He's been messing around with the idea for years, and apparently Carey Mulligan would star in it.

The director has hired a young UK playwright named Polly Stenham to write the script for the film. Refn usually writes his own scripts, but maybe this time around he needs a woman's touch since the film is full of female characters. Maybe he's not confident writing for female characters.

Stenham recently talked to the London Evening Standard, saying,

"He’s got a lot of stick for doing films some people think are violently misogynistic. So he approached me with the idea of doing something different."

At this point not much is known about the film other than it will take place in Miami and have lots of sex. Refn is a talented director, but I didn't really care for his last film, Only God Forgives. That movie kind of just pissed me off, but a horror directed by him could be really interesting, especially with Mulligan starring in it. I'm curious to see what is being planned for this.
