Alan Taylor Unhappy with THOR: THE DARK WORLD Mid-Credits Scene

We don't know exactly what the mid-credits scene will include in Thor: The Dark World, but there are some light spoilers ahead. So if you don't want to know anything other than what the title of the post suggests, then don't read beyond this point.

Of course there is going to be a mid-credits scene in Thor: The Dark World! We can expect to see that in every Marvel film. For the most part they've all been pretty cool and are used to connect the cinematic universe. The one in Thor will connect with Guardians of the Galaxy, but director Alan Taylor isn't happy with how it turned out at all. In fact, he says it's the worst part of his film.

Taylor was willing to talk about the mid-credits sequence in an interview with Bleeding Cool, and this is how the conversation went down...

BC: So was that James Gunn?
AT: I wouldn’t blame it on James Gunn.
BC: Blame?
AT: Er… I wouldn’t attribute it to James Gunn… it’s clearly his sets and his characters…
BC: So you’re not quite comfortable with it?
AT: I am very happy not to take responsibility for that…
BC: It’s a different tone for sure, huh?
AT: It’s a different tone. I would have shot it differently. But I think it’s cool that it reaches out and touches that other universe. That universe is coming. The Guardians universe is really cool and wacky… but that sequence in the credits, I would say, is the only part of the movie where I’m happy to give the credit away…

So basically Taylor is pointing the finger at Marvel executives for how the credits sequence ended up. He won't claim it, and he says it's not Gunn's fault, so that just leaves the heads of Marvel. At the same time, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Gunn did in fact direct it, and apparently everyone else is happy with it.

It's kind of a shame that Taylor doesn't care for it. Either way, I'm excited to see it, and I'm sure that fans are going to go crazy for whatever it is. I just hope whatever it is features Rocket Raccoon!
