Brett Ratner to Produce FARMVILLE Animated Series

Brett Ratner is set to produce an animated TV series based on the insanely popular online game FarmVille, which I tried playing once for about 30 minutes. I never played it again. Ratner will be developing the series with Six Eleven Media, and here's what he had to say in a statement,

FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless. I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience.

Personally, I don't see how this game can be one of the most exciting brands. Farmville is one of those things that I'm baffled by, because I don't see how people can enjoy it, but to each their own.

Each episode will be thirty minutes long, and as of right now no network is attached. The game itself was launched in 2009, and FarmVille 2 was released last fall. Are there any FarmVille addicts out there excited about this animated series? I just can't help but think it's going to be crap.

Ratner is currently prepping to shoot Hercules with Dwayne Johnson, which should prove to be a disaster.
