PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES Is Coming Back from the Dead

It looks like Seth Grahame-Smith‘s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is set to come back from the dead and move into development. This novel has been trying to get a big screen adaptation for years. When it first started Natalie Portman was set to star and David O. Russell was going to direct. Since then director Craig Gillespie came and went, and there were several other actresses approached such as Blake Lively and Emma Stone, both of whom turned it down.

It was revealed in a recent press release from the Annapurna-backed Panorama Media, Darko Entertainment, Handsomecharlie Films, and producer Allison Shearmur, that they would start developing the movie again with Portman coming back as a producer on the movie. One of the better parts of this news is that the screenplay Russell wrote will be used for the film production. Russell is a hell of a talented guy, and I'm glad they're using his script.

I enjoyed Timur Bekmambetov's adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vamipire Hunter, and I could see this movie being really fun if it gets a solid director and cast. Hopefully this time around they can actually get the production together and moving forward.
