Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill on Reinventing the MAN OF STEEL

At first I was not too keen on seeing Man of Steel. Now, my tune has changed. After seeing footage at SDCC '12, and the latest trailer, I went from not interested to completely invested. My excitement has grown in recent weeks with all the buzz that is being generated by the people who have seen the film.

With the release date drawing near, we are going to be hit from all sides with MOS hype. In a recent interview with Total Film, director Zack Snyder and the Man Of Steel himself Henry Cavill answered a few questions about the difference between this Superman and the others that have graced the big screen. Here is what they had to say:

We’ve tried to make a Superman movie where he does stuff and you go, ‘Yeah, if I was Superman, that’s what I’d do. Even though he’s an alien, he’s more relatable, more human.

Or as Cavill put it,

This is a Superman for a modern age. It’s not betraying anything that Superman is, but it is grounding everything in reality. It’s the story of this incredible being who can do incredible things, but whom we can associate with. Because he’s gone through troubling stuff and had to make tough choices…”

One of the things that has me enthralled to see Snyder’s version of the man from Krypton is the fact that he says that this Superman will get down and dirty. We will actually see him take off the gloves and fight. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.

Are you excited for what is in store? Is there anything that is holding you back from being totally stoked to see this movie?

Until next time…

Billy Out!
