Ron Moore's Dark Thriller HELIX gets a 13-Episode Order from SyFy

TV Syfy by Joey Paur

I loved what Ron Moore did for Battlestar Galactica, and I'm looking forward to seeing how his next TV series Helix turns out. The SyFy Channel just picked up 13-episodes of the dark thriller that will go straight-to-series.

The story follows a team of scientists who are "investigating a possible disease outbreak at an Arctic research facility who find themselves trying to protect the world from annihilation." We don't know much more about the story other than that. Syfy’s president of original content Mark Stern had this to say in a statement,

With its well-drawn characters, taut drama, and incredible production team, we couldn’t be more excited to see this intense thrill-ride of a series come to life.

Production on the series is expected to start soon, and according to Deadline, should debut later this year. Are you excited to see Moore's new series? Or are you still pissed off at him for how he ended Battlestar?
