Michael Bay Clarifies That NINJA TURTLES Origin Includes the Ooze

Remember that time when Michael Bay said that the Ninja Turtles would come from an alien race in his new adaptation of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Well, since then, the movie was put on hold so the script could be rewritten. Now Bay is saying that the Turtles were never going to be aliens in the first place, he just never corrected himself... which we all know is B.S., but here's what he told Moviefone in a recent interview,

There was that quote saying that we’re making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We're not, It’s the ooze! It’s from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic. I think they’re going to be really happy with this movie. When I see the digital stuff, the turtles look great.

Yes, he did listen to the fans after they wanted his blood for turning them into aliens. Then he changed the origin story from being aliens back to the ooze when they rewrote the script. I think it's funny that Bay treats the audience like they are stupid. Regardless of the lies, I'm happy to hear that the ooze has been added back into the story and that they will be mutants and not aliens.

The film is set to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman from a script written by Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and John Fusco. As of right now, it stars Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett in an unspecified role, and Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter.

Bay then went on to talk a little bit about Transformers 4 and the redesigns for the robots,

You know there are a couple of historians of Transformers. I would do my designs of the robots and they’re like, 'What if you just add a little bit more ears to Optimus?' But they’re really hands off. We’ve redesigned them in 'Transformers 4,' and there’s some really cool s-t in it. I’m literally redesigning every character, top to bottom. There’s a reason why they’re redesigned, but it’s also to keep it new and fresh to me. I think the fans will appreciate some of this new stuff we have in the movie and some of the new characters.

I'm curious to see how these new designs turn out! I never really cared for the robot designs in the first three films. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and Stanley Tucci.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set to be released on June 6th, 2014, and Transformers 4 will be released on June 27th.
