Jamie Foxx Looking to Play Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE Remake

Jamie Foxx is looking to join director Will Gluck's big screen musical adaptation of Annie. The actor is now in talks to play the Daddy Warbucks character who has been renamed Benjamin Stacks -- and yes, his name literally means stacks of $100 bills. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the name change.

If cast, he'll join Quvenzhané Wallis who was already cast in the title role. Will Smith and Jay Z are producing the film, the script for which was written by Emma Thompson and later rewritten by Aline Brosh McKenna.

The story will be set in modern day and follow the adventures of little orphan Annie as she tries to find a family to call her own. She ends up being adopted by a billionaire.

Foxx is currently shooting The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and the next movie we'll see him in is the action-thriller White House Down.
