JURASSIC PARK 4 Put on Hold
There's something weird going on over at Universal Pictures regarding Jurassic Park 4. The film was suppose to be moving into production soon, but it's been put on hold. A couple tweets went out from a couple of the production crew last night. One that said "Jp4 on hold" and the other, "Hollywood makes and crushes dreams. Goodbye JP4". That doesn't really sound very promising, does it? The tweets have since been deleted, but here is a couple of screenshots.
It doesn't sound like the movie has been completely cancelled, but the studio is obviously trying to figure out what to do with it. According to the website Jurassicpark4, a "reliable source" has revealed the reason for all this craziness.
Apparently, the studio is in conflict with some of the people involved with the film's development, so they are restructuring some things. The site says that the film is still in production; Colin Trevorrow is still attached to direct, but that there is going to be a "restructuring of the guard". They added that the film will "deliver on an EPIC scale. It is this 'EPIC' demand by the studio however, which has lead to the current situation. It seems Universal wants to pull out all the stops and go above and beyond what they had initially set their goals to be. This has lead to a number of disagreements between those working on the project and the Studio, which has resulted in an overhaul within the film's production crew. No specifics however."
As for the people that sent out the tweets, they were actually let go along with 80% of the art department. They also confirm that the script for the movie is not an issue. Apparently the script is fine, it's just problems that have come from the film's developmental core.
I'm just happy to hear that the movie isn't dead! I'm looking forward to this! Chances are thought the movie wont make the June 13th, 2014 release date. That's ok though, I can wait a little longer.
