Female James Bond Comedy Coming from Director Paul Feig

Bridesmaids director Paul Feig is writing, directing, and producing a new movie described as a female James Bond spy comedy called Susan Cooper

The news come from The Wrap who says, it will be "a realistic comedy about a female James Bond, rather than a parody along the lines of Get Smart or Johnny English." An insider also describes the project as "a two-hander in the vein of The Heat that lends itself to a possible franchise."

The Heat is Feig's next film coming out this month. It's a female buddy cop story that stars Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. I personally don't think that looks that good, but when the trailer plays for audiences in the theaters people laugh, so I'm sure it will do ok.

The director is currently on the hunt for a his lead actress. Apparently he was inspired to make the movie back in 2006 with the reintroduction of James Bond in Casino Royale. Hopefully he comes up with something good.
