THIS IS THE END Sequel Possibilities Discussed by Evan Goldberg
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's This Is The End was one of my favorite comedies of the year so far. The movie was hilarious, and if you haven't seen it yet, you need to check it out. It will make you laugh! I don't know how they could make a sequel for this movie, but it has been discussed. One idea thrown around is they would make the movie even more meta than the first. In a recent interview with Dread Central, Goldberg, who co-wrote and co-directed the film, discussed some of the ideas for the sequel saying,
“If you ask me, I’d say there’s a good chance of sequel. If you ask Seth, he’d say no. So, we’ll see. We lucked out that [the cast] were all available [at the time]. I honestly don’t know if we could get the guys together [again]. We actually talked about doing a sequel where it starts at the premiere of This Is the End. Seth’s a cokehead in this version, Michael Cera is a calm dude with a boyfriend, Rihanna and The Backstreet Boys are back. We have a lot of ideas: a heaven and hell, for example, and a garden of Eden version where Danny [McBride] is Adam.”
If they can make this sequel effectively work, I would love to see this happen. What do you think about some of the ideas he presents here?
