Trailer for Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake's Gambling Drama RUNNER RUNNER
I love a good film set in the world of high stakes gambling, and this new drama Runner Runner looks great. The movie was directed by Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer), and it stars Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. I liked what I saw in the trailer, unfortunately, it's wrapped up in that annoying Entertainment Tonight flare. I do have to say though that I started laughing when the female host says "we have your first look at their sexy new thriller," and then it cuts to a scene of a guy being pushed into a lake full of man-eating crocodiles.
This could be a really good film. Timberlake plays a Princeton student in the story who gets cheated during a big online poker gamble and loses a lot of money. He ends up tracking down the corrupt site owner played by Affleck, who ends up making Timberlake his right-hand man.
The film co-stars Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) and Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker). It hits theaters on September 27th. Check out the trailer and let us know if it looks like a film you'd be interested in seeing.
