James Gunn and Rocket Raccoon on the Set of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Director James Gunn welcomes Rocket Raccoon to the set of Guardians of the Galaxy in this new photo he released. The photo came with the following caption, 

I've just hired a new gaffer for the shoot. Chewing on wires is good, right?

I've been saying all along that Rocket Raccoon is going to steal the show, just like The Hulk stole the show in The Avengers. I'm excited to see what this character ends up looking like on the big screen and who will end up voicing the rodent. 

The movie also stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, John C. Reilly, Karen Gillan, and Glenn Close. The movie will be released on August 1st, 2014
