X-FORCE and MAGNETO Movies Confirmed by Rob Liefeld

Movie Comic-Con by Joey Paur

Yesterday news hit the internet that 20th Century Fox had registered the domain name X-ForceMovie.com, leading many people to believe that the studio plans to make an X-Force film, which isn't too far-fetched. Especially since X-Force creator Rob Liefeld confirmed it on Twitter, as well as a Magneto movie.

It all started when X-MenFilms.com found the domain name and Bleeding Cool revealed that Fox will be using Comic-Con to make the official announcement during their panel for X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

"This past week or so, we’ve been “off camera,” chasing rumours that Fox are on the verge of announcing plans for their extended X-Men movie universe. We were tipped off that they will – unsurprisingly – be using their panel at Comic-Con as the launch pad."

Liefeld said that he was informed that the X-Force movie was in development in March, and went on to say,

"And by informed, I mean told that an X-Force film was in the planning stages. Much different than shooting a film."

Then he confirmed that the studio is still developing their Magneto film!

"When they cast an X-Force film then its reason to celebrate. They have a Magneto film in 'development' as well. Proceed with caution."

The last thing I saw him tweet was,

"Cross your fingers and hope for good things for X-Force. Being ON the radar is much better than not!"

There's a strong possibility that the studio could be announcing more than one new X-Men universe movie as well. I really hope Deadpool is another! We could also see New Mutants, X-Factor, and X-Statix.

The panel kicks off in Hall H at 4.15 PM on Saturday July 20th. Would you like to see Fox make an X-Force movie?

X-Force was launched in the early 90s by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld. The team is a more militant and aggresive counter part to the X-Men. The original team consisted of characters such as Cable, Cannonball, Domino, Warpath, and Deadpool, and later incarnations featured Wolverine, Psylocke, Sunspot, and Colossus.
