Jeff Wadlow Gives Update on X-FORCE Movie

Movie by Joey Paur

Fox didn't officially announce an X-Force movie at Comic-Con this year like we thought they would. Instead they treated fans with the entire cast and footage from Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past . It doesn't mean the movie isn't in the works. Kick-Ass director Jeff Wadlow is currently writing the film, and in a recent interview with Cinema Blend he gave an update on where he currently is in the development of the project.

“I’m pretty deep into it, I have the whole story completely worked out. I’m about 20 pages into my draft. If I wasn’t promoting Kick-Ass, I would probably have a draft [already], but Kick-Ass is going to slow me down just a little.”

The writer and director was asked about the importance of the team's leader, Cable to which he replied,

"Here’s the thing, I love the current run of Uncanny X-Force. I love the classic run. Part of my take was addressing this idea that X-Force can be many different things, and that’s what got the studio excited. I think the fans will be excited, too.”

The fans are excited, and Wadlow could have the talent to give us an awesome film adaptation.  Hopefully he turns in a great script that the studio likes and they greenlight the hell out of it!

X-Force was launched in the early '90s, and the team the original team consisted of characters such as Cable, Cannonball, Domino, Warpath, and Deadpool, and later incarnations featured Wolverine, Psylocke, Sunspot, and Colossus.
