John Woo Starts Production on THE CROSSING

Movie John Woo by Joey Paur

Director John Woo has started production on his next film project, The Crossing, which will be his first film in over four years. The last movie he directed was Red Cliff 2. Woo has made a lot of fun action films in his career, and this new one sounds like it could be good.

According to Variety, The Crossing is a two-part film that's set against the upheavals of revolutionary China in 1949, "the film is the story of three couples from different backgrounds who make a fateful voyage on a ship fleeing China to Taiwan."

The screenplay for the film was written by Wang Huiling, who previously co-wrote Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. This film production news was surprising. Prior to this I hadn't seen that Woo was attached to it.
