THOR: THE DARK WORLD to Get Early IMAX Release!
Marvel Entertainment and IMAX have announced that Thor: The Dark World will be getting an early IMAX release on October 30th! The movie will open wide on November 8th. Here's the press release:
IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Marvel Entertainment, a division of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS), today announced that Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, starring Chris Hemsworth, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released into IMAX® 3D theatres internationally beginning Oct. 30.
This movie looks amazing and could easily end up being better than the first one. It's so awesome that Marvel is able to bring these worlds to life on the big screen! With movie-making technology anything is possible, and I love that.
It was also recently revealed by director Alan Taylor that they did reshoots for the film so they could add more Loki, because obviously everyone seems to love Loki. More Loki isn't going to hurt the film.
Thor battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.
