HOUDINI Miniseries Gets Greenlight at History Channel
The History Channel has officially greenlit a new miniseries that I can't wait to see! The series is called Houdini, and it obviously centers on the life of the legendary magician and his rise to fame. Adrien Brody (The Pianist) is set to play the title character and Kristen Connolly will play his wife.
The mini will trace the arc of Houdini's life from desperate poverty to worldwide fame. The story "follows the man behind the magic as he finds fame, engages in espionage, battles spiritualists and encounters the greatest names of the era, from U.S. presidents to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Grigori Rasputin. The drama will chronicle the life of a man who can defy death through his stunts, his visions and his mastery of illusion."
I'm a huge fan of magic and the history of it. The History Channel has a great track record for the shows they've been developing likeThe Hatfields & McCoys, Vikings, The Men Who Built America, and The Bible . I'm sure this will end up making another incredible series!
Houdini will be a four-hour series, and production will begin this fall!
