20th Century's WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP Reboot Lands a Director
20th Century is moving forward with its remake of the 1992 sports comedy White Men Can’t Jump, as they recently hired Calmatic to direct the film. Calmatic recently wrapped production on the House Party reboot for New Line.
The original White Men Can’t Jump movie follows two street basketball hustlers who at first try to hustle each other, then team up for a bigger score. It also helped take the careers of Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes to new levels. There’s no word on the story for the reboot will be updated, but I imagine it will stay close to what the original film entails.
The script was co-written by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall with Barris also producing. This remake has been in and out of development for years, but with a director now attached it looks like it’s actually going to happen.
What do you think about White Men Can’t Jump getting the remake treatment?
