2K and NFL Agree to New Deal for More NFL 2K Games

It looks like football loving gamers may have some more options int eh near future.. According to IGN, 2K Games and the NFL have signed a new deal that will allow 2K to make some new football games. Now, there is a caveat to all this. According to the report, EA’s Madden NFL series will still be the only option in the high-end simulation market. That means that fans should expect some different games. In a statement, 2K said, “The games will be non-simulation football game experiences.”

The obvious response is that they’re merely going to bring back NFL 2K. Although unlikely, I wouldn’t mind a return of the NFL Blitz series of games. I could also see something similar to the Football Manager games. Of course, all we know is that Jason Argent of 2K said the new titles would be under the NFL 2K moniker. Could it just be a return to those titles?

These games will be ‘NFL 2K’ products, definitely.

Our goal is always authenticity, depth, fun and as it relates to these titles – approachable and social football experiences. We think this is a good opportunity to service a more casual market, and our research shows there’s an appetite for that.

The first set of NFL games from 2K are set to launch in 2021. What do you think we’ll see?
