3 Great Halloween Films for People Who Don't Like Scary Movies

I do not care for scary movies. Unfortunately, around Halloween people seem to only want to watch horror films. What about those of us who don’t enjoy those films?

There’s still something for you, I promise. In fact, here are three that I try to watch after the wife has scared the living crap out of me with one of her movies. What are some of your favorite films to watch at this time of year?

Night of the Living Deb

Visit our official website: http://darkskyfilms.com/night-of-the-living-deb/ After a drunken night together, two mismatched would-be romantics must team up to survive a zombie apocalypse.

This is a fun movie. It stars Maria Thayer and she should totally be in more movies and shows. The acting is surprisingly good, and a lot of laughs are to be had. It’s also a little different than most other Halloween films since it takes place on the Fourth of July. Here’s a full synopsis:

Deb wakes up on the Fourth of July in the apartment of the most attractive man she has ever seen. An awkward walk of shame turns ugly when they discover the town has been overrun by a zombie virus, and the duo has to band together to survive.

The Mummy

Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz star in this nonstop action epic about the discovery of a long-lost treasure in the Egyptian desert that also unearths a 3,000-year-old legacy of terror!

The Mummy from 1999 is absolutely amazing. Campy? Heck yeah! That campiness though coupled with the amazing acting of Brendan Fraser creates a hilarious and exciting experience that could still give some kids nightmares. Just forget the 2017 Tom Cruise film exists as you enjoy this monster film.

Clue

Here is the murderously funny movie based on the world-famous Clue board game. And now, with this special videocassette version, you can see all three surprise endings! Was it Colonel Mustard in the study with a gun? Miss Scarlet in the billiard room with the rope? Or was it Wadsworth the butler?

This comedic murder mystery film may not have done well when it was released back in 1985, but it is a staple for many these days. Clue is one of my top 3 movies of all time and with the murder mystery theme, it’s perfect at this time of year.

With an incredible cast of Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Lesley Ann Warren, Christopher Lloyd, Eileen Brennan, Colleen Camp, Martin Mull, and more, this film delivers an adaptation of a board game that had no right being as good as it is.

What are some of your favorite Halloween movies that aren’t really that scary?
