3 New Posters For STRANGER THINGS 4, a Premiere Date, and a Synopsis - "Every Ending Has a Beginning”
Netflix has released three posters for the highly anticipated fourth season of Stranger Things and these tease the beginning of the end. All the posters include the tagline, “Every Ending Has a Beginning,” which is an ominous suggestion that the end is in sight for Stranger Things. It was also announced that Stranger Things 4 will be slit in half with Volume 1 set to premiere on May 27th, and Volume 2 to follow on July 1st.
The Duffer Bros. shared, “With nine scripts, over 800 pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
They went on to say: “Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes. Volume One will release on May 27; Volume Two will release five weeks later on July 1. So that’s the good news. It’s coming soon. And it’s better than ever. It’s also the beginning of the end.”
There’s still so much that we don’t know about Season 4 of the supernatural horror series. Hopper is still alive though, and is “imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other.”
As far as the story of the other characters, Eleven is life living in California with Will Byers and his family, and it’s explained that “back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long-buried, something that connects everything…” Robert Englund has also joined Season 4 and is playing Victor Creel, a disturbed man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.
The recently shared synopsis reads:
“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”
The Duffer Bros. previously shared that, “Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more.”
When talking about Season 4, producer Shawn Levy said that Season 4 is also the show's most ambitious season yet, saying:
"I'll just say that we are long-delayed, and the Duffers and I want to share Season 4 with the world as badly as the world wants it. Part of what's taking time is long before Covid and the pandemic existed, Season 4 was built to be by far the most ambitious, cinematic, sprawling and epic season that we've ever done. By not just a little — by a lot. So the complexity of Season 4, even before we had the obstacles, hurdles and challenges of a pandemic, is taking a lot of time because it is super worth the wait."
The series stars Millie Bobbie Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, and they will be joined by newcomers Jamie Campbell Bower, Joseph Quinn, Tom Wlaschiha, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, and Nikola Djuricko.
Here are the episode titles for the upcoming season, The Hellfire Club, Vecna’s Curse, The Monster and the Superhero, Dear Billy, The Nina Project, The Dive, The Massacre at Hawkins Lab, Papa, and The Piggyback.
