49 Easter Eggs and References Spotted in the Latest Trailer For JOKER
Last week fans were treated with a new trailer for DC’s upcoming Joker film and for the most part, people seem to love what they’re seeing.
Screen Crush has since released a new video that points out 49 Easter eggs and references that they spotted in the trailer and want to talk about. While a lot of it is fairly obviously stuff if you’re paying attention when you watch the the trailer, there are a few things you may not have noticed.
One thing the video does is compare it to other films like Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver, The King of Comedy, and Excalibur.
The film was directed by Todd Phillips and it stars Joaquin Phoenix, who gives a crazy awesome performance.
Joker centers around the iconic arch-nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. The exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
The film also stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, and Marc Maron.
Joker will be released in theaters on October 4th, 2019.
