After Mortal Kombat became such a huge hit, several other gaming companies wanted to ride on the tails of its success, and we saw a bunch of really bad clones that didn't really live up to the standard set by Mortal Kombat

The video below takes us through the five most terrible Mortal Kombat clones that some of you might not remember. I completely forgot about a lot of these, and this is a hilarious reminder of video games that sucked ass. 

In the 1990s, Mortal Kombat became a global phenomenon, spawning movies, albums of confrontational techno and even a live action tour. As with anything successful, lots of games wanted to hop on the bandwagon and grab some of that blood-soaked cash for themselves. But most of them soon realised you can’t just dress your mate in a karate gi, film him doing some kicks in front of a greenscreen and have a smash hit videogame on your hands.
