6 Reasons Why You Should Be Playing GENSHIN IMPACT
This article is 100% just me expressing how much fun and how good this game is. We aren’t sponsored or anything by miHoYo. I just wanted to let everyone know that Genshin Impact is a fantastic game and wanted to share why I think everyone should give it a chance.
1. Free Breath Of The Wild
Yes, I understand that there are many free-to-play games. However, this is more or less a free-to-play open-world, action-adventure game. We haven’t seen many of those, especially at this level of quality. It will feel a lot like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in the best ways possible. It isn’t as perfect or as expansive as Breath of the Wild, but it’s getting there.
2. Waifus Of The Wild
Alright weebs, I know you’re there, but there is more in this game than anime babes. As much as there is a slew of fine ladies to choose from and unlock in the game, Genshin Impact really dives into a variety of certain Anime and JRPG elements while still being BOTW with Waifus. Between the over-the-top story, unique characters, and cheesy/fun writing, this game easily earns the title of Waifus of the Wild.
3. Lots Of Land, Lots To Do
Free-to-play games usually boast a lot of content and things to explore. But holy cow, the area here in Genshin Impact is gigantic. There is a massive network of fast travel locations because the map is so big, and it will only get bigger as updates happen. However, the world isn’t just a massive playground of lakes, mountains towns, and ruins. It has plenty of collectibles, puzzles, world quests, wandering bosses, and dungeons explore, collect, and conquer. All of this stands next to a pretty fleshed-out story too. I haven’t spent a penny on this game and I’ve already logged in 30 hours or more, and I’m not even close to hitting the halfway mark in terms of content.
4. Weapons, Magic, and Combos
There are other “gotcha” style games where players will go through levels of battles to basically play the slot machine to find new characters and things. Genshin follows a pretty similar model, but the gameplay is far superior to others prior. Between a variety of weapons, elements, unique attacks using those weapons and elements per character, and a wide variety of enemies, I’ve found that Genshin Impact has a better combat system than a number of triple-A games I’ve played in the last few years.
5. Party Time and Character Growth
As players unlock characters, they can upgrade the crap out of them. I’m talking about being able to upgrade their base level and stats, their specific talents and abilities, giving them a series of artifacts that be upgraded and weapons that can be refined and upgraded too. A lot of time will go into finding material and making killer teams, trying out new sets of artifacts, and upgrading like crazy.
6. Co-op, Cross-Play, and More
If these five reasons aren’t enough to make you want to try out this game, here are a few more. Players can play online co-op between mobile and PC (sorry Playstation users, cross-play isn’t available as of now). Players can match-make and find friends/parties to run around the world. There are rotating events and challenges. There is a fairly generous battle pass. There are several end-game, high-intensity missions, and content. There is no content that is behind paywalls (as of now). There are more things to list, but I think you get the idea. Lots to do, lots to play, all for free.
So here are my reasons why you should be playing this game. I’ve put in some videos of great content creators that can help you get started. Let us know your thoughts on Genshin Impact in the comments below!
