7 WONDERS EDIFICE Adds an Optional Cooperative Element to the Modern Classic Board Game

Today, Asmodee and Repos Production announced 7 Wonders Edifice. This is a new expansion for the popular board game 7 Wonders and adds the mechanic of building communal edifices. Edifices are new projects that players can either work together to build for rewards or ignore in order to focus on personal glory. Just be warned that there can be consequences for not contributing to an Edifice if it’s completed. 7 Wonders Edifice has been designed to be the most accessible expansion for 7 Wonders by bringing in new mechanics without increasing the game’s complexity or playtime. Inside the box, you’ll find 15 Edifice cards and two Wonders for you to enjoy.

Edifices add a strategic layer to 7 Wonders without extending the game’s length. For each Edifice, players must weigh the benefits and consequences of working with the other players. Join opponents in these communal projects, or ignore their construction and focus resources on personal glory. If players complete an Edifice, they earn rewards, while those who chose to work alone will miss out on end-of-age benefits.

You can add 7 Wonders Edifice to your game night options on February 24 with pre-orders now live at select retailers and Asmodee for $29.99. 7 Wonders is a pretty good game for people that don’t want anything too complex or one of the “classic” games like LIFE or Monopoly and it sounds like this new expansion could really elevate the gameplay.
