One of my favorite places to go whenever I visit San Francisco is the creepy and delightful vintage arcade, Musée Mécanique. I love this place and the feeling it offers is like being transported back in time.

I’ve got a wonderful video here for you to watch that gives us a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to keep this nostalgic museum in operation. The video features proprietor Dan Zelinsky discussing the museum and his role in keeping it alive for the past 40 years. As you might imagine, he found himself faced with the challenges of keeping it open through a pandemic.

The film comes from Sofie Kodner and Eleonora Bianchi, and this is the synopsis:

Antique arcade Musée Mécanique has provided entertainment to San Franciscans and tourists alike for nearly a century. But the pandemic almost marked its end. The short documentary 'Nostalgia Museum' provides an intimate portrait of owner Dan Zelinsky as he struggles to keep the legacy of this iconic San Francisco institution alive in the face of economic loss and mechanical deterioration.

I hope you enjoy this little film below.
